Caring for the whole person
What is it like to be a patient at The Elliot Lewis Center? There are many options for multiple sclerosis care in New England, but our model sets us apart, and our patients, families, and caregivers agree. Learn more About the Center and the MS Care Team.
Before Your Visit
- Many insurance carriers require a referral through your primary care provider (PCP). If your health plan requires a referral, please contact your PCP as soon as possible and specify the name of the doctor you will be seeing at the Center. Ask that the referral specifying your Elliot Lewis Center doctor be faxed to 781-591-8320.
- Bring your insurance card. We will need a copy of the card at your first visit and every time you have a change in insurance. We will be asking for your insurance copayment when you check in at your visit. You can make your payment via check, HSA, debit or credit card.
- If possible, please gather these medical records to bring with you including:
- MRI discs with images
- Office notes from previous and current neurologists
- Laboratory, radiology, and other test results relating to your MS
- Current medication list
- When you arrive, check in at our front desk. You will complete intake forms and be asked to provide your insurance cards. If you prefer to complete intake forms in advance, you can download the forms here: ELC intake forms
One Unified Team with an Integrated Care Approach
MS is stressful enough without the uncertainty of wondering if your needs will be met, if your doctor truly understands what you’re going through, or if your questions will all be answered. At The Elliot Lewis Center, you never have to worry about these things.
While we are one of the largest multiple sclerosis centers in New England, we promise that we will take care of you with personalized attention, compassion, and understanding. We will make your care experience as easy and convenient as possible, so you can relax and focus on what matters the most to you, beyond your medical care.
Here are just a few ways we make our care more accessible, convenient, and effective:
You have direct access to your doctor both during regular working and off hours via email and phone.
Along with your doctor, we have a dedicated team of nurses, research assistants, and support staff, all of whom work together as a team.
Our easily accessible first-floor location is just outside of congested Boston with free on-site parking right near the entrance. There are no long walks or elevator rides.
We have a convenient and integrated on-site infusion center.
We schedule urgent appointments within 24 hours when possible.
Care is streamlined and coordinated: Staff speak with physicians and each other every day, and your whole team meets at least twice a week to ensure nothing is missed.
Your access to treatment is critically important to us. We work with you on insurance and benefits management, but also help through other avenues to lower costs and connect you with the treatment and medications you need.
A more personalized and integrated approach to MS care makes a difference. Please contact us to learn more.
